Adjusting to Change and Staying Connected

The Program

ONE Rehabilitation Service has developed a program specifically for clients with acquired brain injuries and other neurological conditions. The program will equip participants with skills and strategies to assist them in coping through the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will work with a range of allied health professionals to assist them in coping through these uncertain times.

The course is tailored to the participants individual circumstances with the goal of developing skills to help them become more independent and connected during COVID-19.

Week 1 Topics

  • COVID-19 What I need to know – Physiotherapy ~ Psychology
  • Maintaining your mental health and well-being ~ Psychology

Week 2 Topics

  • Managing relationship while in social isolation ~ Social Work
  • Social connectedness Vs physical distance ~ Speech Pathology

Week 3 Topics

  • The importance of balance and routine ~ Occupational Therapy 
  • Finding leisure / hobbies / enjoyment  ~ Social Work

Week 4 Topics

  • Maintaining physical health  – Physiotherapy
  • Practical tips for shopping and cooking – Occupational therap

 

On completion of the course

Participants will be invited to participate in a peer support group
Each week will comprise of two one hour sessions.

Participation

 

This program will be available via tele-health or in the clinic . To participate via tele-health you will need access to an ipad, computer or smartphone, and a reliable wifi connection.
